One of my quick go-to’s on a busy night. I worship you, Instant Pot!
Honey Garlic Chicken (in Instant Pot)
4 – 6 organic chicken thighs
2 Tbsp organic butter
2 Tbsp Bragg’s Liquid Aminos
2 Tbsp organic ketchup
2 Tbsp honey (you add this LAST)
2 cloves garlic (minced)
Sesame seeds, for garnishing (optional)
Directions: Mix all sauce ingredients (except honey) together in a bowl (just leave sesame seeds out). Place chicken in IP and pour sauce over it. Secure lid and make sure knob is in sealed position. Push Manual > HIGH > for 15-minutes. Once finished, carefully move knob to release pressure.
Drizzle the honey over chicken. Sprinkle sesame seeds over the chicken. I like serving over millet brown rice ramen noodles or rice with greens. Be sure to pour the sauce all over chicken/greens/rice or noodles to give everything that great flavor! Dinner…done.
Notes: Heating honey above 104°F (40°C) starts to break down its beneficial enzymes, and once it reaches 140°F (60°C) or higher, it can create harmful compounds, including hydroxymethylfurfural (HMF). HMF has been linked to inflammation and can negatively impact digestion. To preserve honey’s natural antioxidants, enzymes, and health benefits, it’s best to add it to warm—not hot—foods and drinks, or use it raw whenever possible!
