There’s something truly magical about crafting simple remedies from whole, vibrant ingredients—especially when they support your body through the ups and downs of the seasons. One of my all-time favorite herbal tonics = Fire Cider.
If you’ve never tried it, fire cider is a bold, tangy, spicy apple cider vinegar infusion made with fresh roots, herbs, spices,
citrus, and honey. It’s a traditional folk remedy designed to support immunity, aid digestion, and stimulate circulation—perfect for the colder months and those pesky seasonal transitions when your system could use a little extra love.
What’s in Fire Cider?
Every batch I brew is made with intention and care, using fresh, organic ingredients like:
-
Garlic & onion – immune-supporting and antimicrobial
-
Horseradish & cayenne – help clear sinuses and get things moving
-
Citrus fruits – provide a bright burst of vitamin C
-
Ginger & turmeric – warming, anti-inflammatory, and soothing to the gut
-
Raw apple cider vinegar – a probiotic-rich base that supports digestion and detox
-
Local raw honey – adds just the right sweetness and soothes the throat
Together, these ingredients infuse over a few weeks, creating a powerful, zesty tonic that wakes up your taste buds and your immune system.
Why I Love It Year-Round
Fire cider is a beautiful example of kitchen medicine—simple ingredients working in harmony to support your wellness. I use it in the fall and winter to stay ahead of seasonal bugs and give my immune system a nudge. In the spring, I lean on it to help open up my sinuses and reduce inflammation during allergy season. It’s also a fabulous digestive boost after meals or before a big holiday dinner. Just a tablespoon or so is all you need!
How to Enjoy It
-
Take a daily shot (always chased with water) or mix with water and sip
-
Stir into salad dressings, marinades, or soups
-
Use as a wellness boost when you feel something coming on or when you’re congested
-
Mix with sparkling water and lemon for a yummy mocktail
