Raw Cabbage Cashew Salad

Springtime is a great time to detoxify. I don’t mean on going on any kind of exotic cleanse – just sayin’ to eat plenty of the foods below to help assist your body with its natural detoxification process. Some of which are:
-dark, leafy, bitter greens
-cruciferous veggies
-fermented vegetables (and drinks)
-dandelion tea
-lemon water (more water in general)
-cabbage

Cabbage does double detox duty. Its diuretic properties help rid your body of excess liquid, carrying toxins along with it. Like other cruciferous veggies, cabbage is also sulfur-rich, helping your liver break down toxins so they can be more easily expelled. This has been my favorite go-to raw cabbage recipe for years now, hope you enjoy!

Raw Cabbage Cashew Salad
One head of cabbage, cored and sliced
1 BPA-free can cannellini beans, drained and rinsed
1/2 cup cashews
Handful of sesame seeds
1/4 cup Braggs liquid aminos (or coconut aminos)
1/4 cup sesame oil (even better toasted sesame oil)
Dulse flakes
Sea salt and pepper to taste

Directions: Toss all ingredients into a large bowl and mix well. The longer this marinated the better it gets. Eat as is, as a side dish or make it heartier by mixing in some arugula and shredded chicken.
