Winter Smoothie – Gingerbread

Usually I never have a taste for smoothies in the colder months, but as a mom they are very appealing out of convenience! I try to make them so that they’re about room temperature, so I don’t use frozen bananas or any ice, but you do you.

Ingredients:
1/2 large bananaIMG_0224
1/4 cup pecans
About 1” fresh ginger (about the size of a small grape), peeled
1 tablespoon blackstrap molasses
3  medjool dates, or squirt of honey
2 dashes nutmeg
1/4 teaspoon cinnamon
1 tablespoon collagen powder (optional)
1 1/2 cups unsweetened almond milk (or milk of your choice)
Handful of spinach
1 scoop whey powder (concentrate) (I prefer this brand) – this is totally optional but adds protein

Directions:
Blend all ingredients until extremely smooth. Add more almond milk or a splash of water to thin, if needed.
